Yamaha Sound Chips
The Yamaha Corporation currently manufactures five LSIs which are designed to play back SMAF audio files: the MA-1, MA-2, MA-3, MA-5 and MA-7. Respectively, these chips are capable of playing 4, 16, 40, 64 and 128 notes of superior sound simultaneously. The chips are incorporated into many of today's mobile phones.

Mobile Phone Handsets
Numerous handsets manufacturers have incorporated the Yamaha MA-1, MA-2, MA-3, and MA-5 sound generator LSIs into their handsets.
The handsets incorporating one of these LSIs would be capable of playing back SMAF files. Hence, SMAF files could be used as the ring tones on these handsets.

Some of NEC handsets sold in Taiwan and Europe are incorporating Yamaha Sound generator LSI, but they applies different download format than SMAF. Please take a look here on tools for those NEC handsets.
